Be Yourself

Be yourself. do you know that 'be yourself' is one of the core teachings of the satanist? yeapx. i am referring to the group of people who worship satan. this is what my good friend, who is a half-satanist told me. well i call him a half-satanist because he is one step short of being a full-fledged satanist. he studied their 'bible', go into their teachings, and of course, try to preach to me about the religion practically every time he see me. well, he tried to make me a convert, as well as asking all kinds of questions regarding christianity which i cannot answer.
to the christians, we can see why 'be yourself' is one of their core teachings. that is because (i am saying this for the benefit of non-christians) we are supposed to deny ourselves. being sinful in nature, we are supposed to deny ourselves, and take on the personality of Christ, who is holy.
to them, 'be yourself' is one of the most logical teachings. well, everyone is made differently. if God wants everyone to be the same, He would not make us all different. the fact we are all made differently is so that the world has variety. in that case, why should we imitate people? we all have different qualities which makes us unique. is that logical? very logical. just be yourself.
but there is one major flaw in that.
first of all, the part of be yourself and deny yourself both religions talk about are totally 2 different things. in christianity, we are supposed to deny our sinful nature. because we are born sinful and have a habit of sinning and actually like to sin (guys tell me you did not think about sex with other girls and girls tell me you never bitch or gossip about other people), we cannot enter heaven and have a close relationship with the holy God. so that is why we are supposed to deny ourselves. it is totally different from what they satanist preach about.
the satanists said to be ourselves in the area of not imitating others. of course, God made us differently. so we would not need to imitate other people. he created Miss X and Miss Y instead of 2 Miss Xs. you see the difference? the satanist had steered away from the concept of sin and had focused instead of the physical attributes and behaviors humans had. it had focused outwardly instead of spiritually, and therefore prevented others from seeing what they really need to see.
moral of the story? just like 'be yourself', there are many teachings that sound logical, but yet are meant to steer us away from seeing what we need to see. this might be what we called human wisdom. we humans are limited in wisdom and understanding, and intelligence. and i know full well if left alone we are just going to die. that is why we need God. without the Bible, God, Christ, The Holy Spirit, we are just going to be influenced by satan. don't tell me your wisdom and understanding is better than him. that is bullshit.
if one day, you find something someone said made a lot of sense, and tried to steer you away, always remember to check with the Bible, with God. ask Him to open your eyes so you can see. i was lucky i could see. always always check with reference to the Bible. human wisdom may seem very logical and makes a lot of sense, but it may not neccessary be true or what you need to know.
