堀江由衣
堀江由衣 (horie yui) is a seiyuu singer, also known as hoc-chan by her fans. well, among all those who listen to japanese songs, we all know that japanese singers can also be categorized into 2 categories, non-seiyuu singers and seiyuu singers.
Follow up:
for the former, i guess many of us know quite a few examples. 浜崎あゆみ (hamasaki ayumi), do as infinity, every little thing, 伊藤由奈 (ito yuna)...etc. these are all famous ones, as well as the mainstream singers who received much support from fans in and out of japan. for the latter, the more famous ones would be, of course hoc-chan, 水樹奈々(mizuki nana, well you know she is my favorite), 田村ゆかり(tamura yukari, or yukarin).
it seemed that non-anime lovers found it childish or even get turned off by the fact that people actually do listen to seiyuu singers. but to me, it does not really matter whether you are a seiyuu singer or not. i mean, even mizuki nana also sing very nice songs which are non-anime related, and they are well received.
oh yeah, there is a third kind. singers who sing for animes, yet they themselves are not seiyuus. how can i forget that? one very good example would be 下川みくに (shimokawa mikuni), my no.2 favorite.
well anyway, this post today is about horie yui-san.
i came across this seiyuu quite sometime ago. but at that time, i did not bother much about her, having going after mizuki nana at that time. it was only some time later when i watched the anime samurai deeper kyo that i wanted to know more about the seiyuu behind 椎名由夜 (shiina yuya). once again i saw the name horie yui, and gradually got to know that she is quite famous. and so i started to download her songs.
lolx it was not a wrong thing to download get them, since the songs she sang are of my type. put it this way, from the way she sings, it is obvious to anyone she is a seiyuu singer. maybe because she still keeps that kawaii, girlish voice when she sings. well sexy too.
the first few songs which caught my attention were 'my best friend' and 'in you'. trust me, these really are very nice songs, songs which got me addicted to her. of course silky heart and hikari are also among my favorites. all her songs bring out that feminine and sexy voice that she possesses.
throughout all of her songs you can see that they are on the side of 'soft' music. definitely not hard rock or even rock. soft pop, you can say. whether you like her songs or not, generally they are soothing and you can say it helps you to relax. of course, the best music to relax would be piano, in my opinion. haix. i lost all my instrumental music when my harddisk crashed. *cries*
well just get hold of some of hoc-chan's music and listen for yourself. if you want to find a song to start with, i recommend you the following, in no order of preferences:
1. my best friend
2. in you
3. pure
4. all my love
5. hikari
6. silky heart
7. ao susuki
8. farewell rain
as for the rest, you can take your time to listen to all her discography and decide which one you like. those 8 songs above are there to make you start to like her. hahahaha.
currently listening to: farewell rain (堀江由衣). nice!
