Reflection At Halfway Point
294 pages of text in calibri font 11. 211,857 words. these are the 'statistics' of the story, black fairytale, which i had written for the past 3 years. or is it 4?
of course, all these included notes i had written for myself. but they don't really take up much space. i would say 20 pages maximum.
so, although i only upload one new chapter weekly, and sometimes even stopped for many weeks, my story progress is quite far away, as i have written when i have the time, and mood. so far on average the speed of me writing is still exceeds the speed of publishing. i mean, even if i had published weekly without stopping (i am really trying to do it), i would still be far ahead.
the reason for that is because i had waited till the story's plot had been quite advanced before i started posting the chapters. and my rate of posting is one chapter a week, my rate of writing, well if i am serious and am not stuck at writing, i can write one chapter out in 2 hours.
so, i have come to around the halfway point. aw, it certainly is a long long way. despite determining the ending quite some time ago (and i really mean quite some time ago), i still could not find myself progressing much to the end point. there is still so much more to write. and certain scenes which i had expected to be over fast, i ended up heavily expanding the scenes to put in more background story for future scenes as well as linking scenes.
anyway, i had hoped that i would be able to finish the whole thing before i graduated from my university in probably 1.5 or 2 years time. i wonder if i will be able to make it. for some reason, i get the feeling that despite this being the 'official' halfway point, i will expand the second half beyond my own imagination. just like how i did to the linking scenes between the first half and the second half, which i am at now. i ended up spending more than 2 volumes on that link, and it is still not complete. aw. anyway, for those who don't read, i usually set 1 volume to be 7-10 chapters,each chapter containing roughly 1200 words, give or take.
since i am at it might as well shamelessly promote market my story a bit.
