Dining Experience Of A 'Blur' And Impatient Person
blur, in singapore, is often referred to a person being clueless about his or her surroundings or happenings.
Follow up:
so, well i was eating steamboat with a friend. something like a dinner to celebrate both our birthdays, since ours are quite near.
this is what happened when a blur and impatient person eat steamboat. you eat nearly everything, uncooked or half cooked.
friend: what is this?
me: no idea.
friend: but you ordered it!
me: ...
friend: is it cooked?
me: no idea. but i ate it like that.
........
friend: what is this?
me: this is pork, this is beef, and that is mutton.
*don't really trust my own words*
*calls waitress*
me: what is this?
waitress: mutton.
*waitress goes away*
me: i still think this is beef.
friend: me too.
me: beef should not be fully cooked.
*proceeds to half-cook that plate of meat and ate it*
*orders another plate of beef*
*waitress put beef on table*
me: ok what i ate half-cooked just now was not beef. it was mutton.
.........
friend: eat the fish. it is nice.
*put fish into the pot*
me: it takes too long to cook.
friend: fish takes a bit more time.
me: but then who says fish must be fully cooked? i can eat it raw.
friend: ya, sashimi.
*takes out the half-cooked fish and eat it*
........
me: the mussel shell is hard to crack open.
friend: throw it into the pot la! ("la" is a word singaporeans used. depending on the tone and situation it will have different meanings. over here it denotes something that should be obvious.)
me: am i not supposed to eat it raw?
(but i have already put the raw mussel into my bowl of rice. and all the fluid from inside the shell had leaked out. i ate the rice anyway. i wonder if i will get food poisoning?)
*cooks mussel. eats mussel*
friend: how is it?
me: it tastes like mussel.
friend: zzz. then what should it taste like? pork?
well there were others as well. eating halfway and realized the pork's liver was not cooked properly. ordering beef's lungs and realized it was horrible.
