Some of you may not like the games I listed on this page. That is because the main games I played are not really to the tastes of some people, I mean the PC games. The Nintendo DS games may be a little different though, as in more people may actually like it. Since I don't have Playstation or Xbox, the games of these 2 consoles won't appear in the lists here. This page is still not complete. I will put up links regarding each game that I have recommended. In the meantime, I guess you have to search the web if you want to find out more about it.

Visual Novels

My favorite category of games are Visual Novels. To those who don't know, this is a kind of game where the player reads and reads and make choices, then continue to read again. It is illustrated by characters designed the same way as Japanese anime characters. There are voice acting too, except for the main character to which you are. Meaning you play the game as if you are the main character inside.  Depending on the choices you make, you get to different endings. Some Visual Novels like Tsukihime have this unlocking system, where you need to get to an ending, to unlock another path. Then you start the game all over (of course there is a fast-forward option so you won't have to repeat reading again) and this time, there will be more choices to go to the new path. Upon successful completion of all endings, you will then grasp the whole idea of the story. To motivate people to explore every option and ending, there are pictures that you can collect at certain paths. Meaning, they made it in such a way that if you want to collect all the pictures in the album, you have to explore every path and ending. Of course to a story lover like me, I will do that even if no pictures are being collected. But sometimes you just missed out one picture to complete the album and you have no idea which option did you miss, then you have to go through the game at least once all over. It is a very tedious process. One such game that employ such a tactic would be Ever17. Some, like Ever17, uses a tracking system to help you take note of the number of endings, percentage of story and choices completed. That gives you a rough idea of how much more to go. To the people who do not like to read, Visual Novels are definitely a no-no for you. But to those who does, I strongly recommend this category of games to you, especially if you are lovers of Japanese anime art. As a side note, most Visual Novels with good stories contain explicit hentai materials. But there are equally good stories that do not contain hentai, just that they come in lesser numbers. Also, Visual Novels with good stories (we do not take into consideration those Visual Novels which main theme is only sex and more sex) sometimes do not get translated. Translation are usually done by volunteers, and because they have their own life other than translating games for free, progress is kind of slow. That also implies that there are alot of Visual Novels that I want to play but are unable to play because of my lousy Japanese and lack of translation groups around. Below are the list of Visual Novels I recommend to others to play. Of course I played more than the 4 Visual Novels listed here, but the 4 below are the ones with really good stories. Do play them if you love stories.

Contains explicit hentai scenes

Tsukihime

Strategy Games

Another favorite of mine is strategy games. But I am not really good at it. I mean I can win the computer, but I cannot win against other players. Brain games are nice games. Depending on your brain power instead of luck or reflexes (My reflex is not fast enough for Counter-strike). Anyway, so far the only strategy game I like is C&C. I still haven't completed C&C3, reason being computer unable to support. What a waste.

Recommended Strategy Games

C&C series.

The first version of the C&C series are not bad too. Just that it cannot run on Windows XP.

MMORPG Games

The kind of games where you start off as a low level and train to be a high level. How? Kill monsters and get items. Sell and get better equipment. Repeat the process. Some people think is boring. But whatever it is, as long as you don't like it, the nicest game is also boring. You can say 22 men chasing after a ball is boring, or that 'terrorists' and 'counter-terrorists' taking guns and shooting each other is a waste of life, but whatever it is, different people do like different games. Not all kinds of games suit everyone. In an MMORPG, the good thing is that there are people all over the world playing the same game. Party, interact or even PK (player kill) are essentials in this kind of game. Of course there are MMORPGs like MapleStory which doesn't contain PK. Still, it doesn't bring down the popularity of the game.

Recommended MMORPG

MapleStory (2D game with cartoonish characters. Some may find it childish.)

Perfect World (Better graphics. One of the nicest MMO I played. Original game is in Chinese, but it is also translated to English.)

Nintendo DS Games

I was doing research between a PSP and a DS and finally settled for DS. Reason being DS has games that are more suited to me. Alternatively you can say I like childish games. I only got my DS for a few months, so there isn't a lot of games that I have tried.

Recommended DS Games

Mario Kart DS

Legend of Zelda

Final Fantasy Revenant Wings
