‘Yue,’ one of the kids above on the audience stands whispered out her name, in a voice so soft no one else could hear. There was no reason to say out her name, it was just an impulse the person had.

Yue’s face widened in surprise as the sword flew by her and that her hood was not covering her face anymore. She was careless. People got shocked. Sounds of ‘WHAT?!’ echoed throughout the whole stadium, and some of them were even standing up as they voiced out their surprise.

It was a girl! It was already amazing enough a kid came to fight and fought so well, entering the second round of the last stage, and putting up such a good fight. And now they were staring at a girl instead of a boy.

Of course there was no rule saying girls were not allowed to take part, nor that girls could not win in a fight. It was just, not probable. Not impossible. But no one would have assumed from that aggressiveness to come from a girl.

She was the youngest competitor around. Even Lin and Xue, who were towards their late teens, were already considered younger than the usual age range of the competitors. This kid, from her looks, was somewhere around in her early teens. Maybe 14, or 15 years of age. Definitely younger than Xue and Lin. Even Kelf got a shock and showed a slight moment of surprise.

The girl glared at Kelf and asked, ‘What is the meaning of this?’

She was clearly irritated. Maybe she was pissed off that Kelf did not respect her decision to keep her face hidden, or maybe she was angry at herself for allowing such carelessness to take place. It might well be a combination of both factors, adding a few others that only she knew. But what was clear now was she was very unhappy about this incident.

Kelf did not reply. They stared at each other. Nobody said anything.

Yue was cute. That was what everyone thought. Even in her current dressing, with no make-up, with a bit of dirt around her face from the competition, she still had the look that would mesmerize the men, or the boys around. Who knows, how much prettier she would look, if she had worn some feminine clothing, put on a little make-up, tidy up her hair which was a little messed from the fights? If one had to compare the looks of Xue, Lin and Yue, one would say that Xue was cute, Lin was pretty, and Yue a combination of both. Yue was not as pretty as Lin, nor as cute as Xue, but she had the factor both had. Give her a few more years, and she would definitely grow into a woman who would keep on appearing in the fantasies of the many desperate men around.

But despite her looks, Kelf could not help but notice one thing that was not compatible with the rest of her features. That was her eyes. The eyes that glared at Kelf, it was a pair of very fierce eyes. There was no intent to kill in the 2 eyes, but they were so fierce that it almost looked like Yue was just one step away from wanting to kill, as if she was extremely angry. It was the kind of eyes that said she had the power to turn her wrath into a nightmare for the unlucky soul who crossed the line she set.

Kelf had thought at first it was his fault for making her so angry, but he realized that Yue was not as upset as he thought. Those eyes, they probably had been this way for a long time. Probably, even when she was in a relaxed state, in a place with nobody where there was no need to bother about the impression of others, that pair of blue eyes would still remain the way it was. Just like how Kelf had eyes which seemed to look down on all the people, Yue had eyes that seemed she was angry at the whole world.

Perhaps, Kelf had thought too much. For all he knew, Yue might have been born this way, or maybe she really was angry at Kelf. That glare of hers could well be her natural expression. Of course, it was much different from the usual expression others had.

Yue put back the hood. She swung the whip towards the ground. It created a hole and came out under Kelf. Big ice balls fell from the sky. The fight had resumed as if nothing had happened in between. Both Kelf and Yue and jumped backwards to avoid the incoming attack, and counter-attacked at the same time. The whip shot out from underneath and tore apart the ground where the whip stretched.

First it sent the blocks in all directions, then she used the whip to beat away all the ice. Suddenly ice appeared from underground and went up to Yue’s neck. Yue jumped away and behind her back came out a large ice pillar which she knocked against. She got ready to fight. But Kelf said she had already lost.

Yue said, ‘Bullshit.’

‘Look at the pillar behind you.’

She refused. She must have thought he would use cheap tricks to win the match. So Kelf created another pillar exactly the same behind himself so Yue could see when facing him. And then the pillar started growing big spikes on it. She saw and realized if at that time that was the case she would have been dead. She had no choice but to admit defeat and went back to her group.

As she sat down one of the hooded kids told her she had done a good job. That kid threw Yue an apple, which she took and bit a small chunk out of it. For all the aggressiveness she had, she still preserved that feminity she had when she was eating.

As Kelf was walking back he saw this, and thought: Don’t tell me the leader is another kid. And what is a group of kids doing together?

In a sarcastic tone, Lin asked Kelf, ‘Did you show mercy to her because she was a pretty and cute girl?’

Kelf had decided to ignore her. Now the final 4 had been decided: Tor, Rif, Kelf and Xel.
